Master of Education (M.Ed) Admissions Criteria
In order to be admitted to the Master of Education applicants must:
(a) Possess a recognized baccalaureate degree from an accredited University, earned in a discipline appropriate for the M.Ed, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its established equivalent.
Those applicants interested in the maths or Science track must also:
- Maths track: have completed an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, a Mathematical Science, Engineering or Maths Education (or equivalent).
- Science track: have completed an undergraduate degree in Science or Science Education (or equivalent).
(b) Possess an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0.
Applicants who do not meet the requirements for the M.Ed may wish to apply for the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) . which provides an opportunity transfer to the M.Ed if, during the first semester, they can raise their IELTS and/or GPA to that required for entry to the M.Ed or continue on the PGDE to obtain a teaching qualification.
